That was Pavithra's first day at her new office. Before joining, she knew only 2 people in the team. One was her manager and the other was Mano who took the technical interview. As per the normal joining formalities, her manager gave an intro to the team and left to his cabin. For sometime there were formal enquiries about educational background and work experiences and then slowly moved on to her work details.
Within a few days she joined, Mano went on his marriage leave. At office everyone was teasing his marriage as "Child marriage" as he looked more like a college student. Later she came to know that it was a love marriage and they had fought for almost more than a year for their parents approval. She felt a soft corner for him as she too had undergone the same situation for her marriage.
By the time mano came back and settled with the team she was more comfortable with rest of the team members and hence dint initiate to talk much with Mano. But she could not stop herself from admiring about him. He was technically too strong and was ready to help anyone who is in need of his advise. And whenever he speaks on phone to his family members, she could see a complete caring and a responsible person. He was also jovial with everyone but still maintained a professionalism. All these together had framed a very good opinion about him.
Once she had to go to office on a holiday, to complete some pending works. To her great surprise, Mano was also there at office. He had some reports to complete for the monthly review. That was the first day they had a casual chat.
Mano: Hey Pavithra, Care for a coffee?
Pavithra: Actually I love Tea
Mano: Wow. Perhaps I thought I was the only one who drank tea in this team
It started like that. From similarities starting in tea, then ended up knowing that they shared a common interest in painting, Ilayaraja, Ronan Keating, Vimala Ramanan novels, their individual love marriage struggle and so on. She was actually surprised to see that he too had a similar kind of impression on her. She felt as if she was chatting with a well known friend. That was the beautiful start of their friendship :-)
It was like she had talked for an hour and still known him for ages. As she came to her place she noticed something on her calendar which said "Strangers are just friends waiting to happen". Quite a coincidence :-))
